Brighton Workers:

We are offering employment advice and organising assistance throughout the pandemic.

Industrial Workers of the World, Brighton Branch

The IWW is a worker-led union committed to workplace democracy and direct action.

The pandemic will leave many workers worse off while employers line their pockets. By organising together we can start to fight back against bosses and get what we are owed. On this website you will find legal and organising advice to start defending your rights and make demands to your boss.

Notice

Welcome, thank you for visiting!

Brighton IWW members are currently working hard to create this site which will be fully functional by Friday 20th March.

In the mean time we have set up a contact form so that you can get in contact with us and receive advice on your current working situation.

You can also contact us at iww-covid-response-brighton[at]protonmail.com

  • We are building a public, real-time database of Brighton employers who are mistreating and in some cases, sacking their staff during this difficult and concerning time.
  • We intend to take these employers to task and apply organising pressure. If you are happy for your employer to be named on this site please say so when you contact us.

Our Objectives

  • To support ongoing workplace disputes
  • To keep workers informed of their rights throughout the emergency
  • To provide workers with the necessary tools to organise within their workplaces to secure pay and rights
  • To provide solidarity with workers taking direct action against their bosses
  • To track and publicise employers that use the pandemic to worsen workers’ conditions
